Why Supra’s MultiVM is a Literal Web3 Megaproject
Updated on March 3, 2026
Why Supra’s MultiVM + native tech stack will lead to supercharged applications.

What Is Supra’s MultiVM and What Does It Mean for Web3?
Blockchain has a fragmentation problem. Solidity developers build on EVM chains. Move developers build on Aptos or Sui. Rust developers build on Solana. Each group works in its own silo with its own tooling, its own liquidity, and its own user base.
That split means builders have to pick a lane. And users have to spread themselves across dozens of chains to access the applications they want.
Supra is building something different. With its MultiVM architecture, Supra is creating a single Layer 1 where developers from every major smart contract ecosystem can deploy the code they already have.
No new languages. No rewrites. One chain.
What Is MultiVM?
MultiVM means a blockchain that runs more than one virtual machine natively. Instead of supporting only Solidity or Move, a MultiVM chain supports multiple smart contract languages at the protocol level.
On Supra, that looks like this:
MoveVM - Developers can deploy Aptos or Sui-compatible Move smart contracts with direct access to native oracle feeds, verifiable randomness (VRF), automation, and cross-chain messaging. (live on mainnet)
EVM - Supra’s SupraBTM engine runs Solidity contracts with parallel execution, benchmarked at 4–7x faster than traditional sequential EVM and 1.5–1.7x faster than Monad’s parallel EVM approach. (live on testnet)
SolanaVM - is under development and expected in 2026. It will support Rust-based Solana smart contracts.
CosmWasm - is also under development. It will support Cosmos ecosystem smart contracts.
Each VM runs natively within Supra’s consensus layer. There are no compatibility wrappers or translation engines. A Solidity contract on Supra executes the same way it would on Ethereum. A Move contract executes the same way it would on Aptos. The code does not change.
Overall, this means that Supra can both house and scale any dApp and any developer in Web3. It is this flexibility that will enable Supra to lead future cycles as one of the most advanced and open blockchains in the world.
